True Beauty

Hello everyone!

Sorry that it has been such a long time since I have written a post, please forgive me! Finals week just about killed me and so I needed to take a bit of a break for myself to reenergize my body and mind. I have been feeling a lot more inspired lately and so I should be posting more frequently… “should” being the key word there! ^^” Anyway, for a while now I have been meaning to do a post on what I feel true beauty really is and how it can be achieved.

This post is very meaningful to me because as a girl I feel there is a lot of pressure on me to always look my best and wear the latest clothes. I constantly have to remind myself that beauty is not what I put on or what I wear, and this will sound cheesy but, beauty is who I am inside and how I choose to embrace life. In today’s world, we as people are always being pressured to look a certain way and have certain things but honestly, that isn’t going to make us anymore beautiful then we already are. Everyone is full of beauty, sometimes we just don’t know it or choose not to believe it but I have some tips for helping you find your inner beauty.

The biggest and most important thing you can do to embrace your inner beauty is to work on pointing out your pros and not cons. Every morning when you are getting ready for the day, take two minutes to stand in front of a mirror and admire yourself. I know this sounds very vain and conceited but even if you just say to yourself, “Wow, my eyes are really pretty,” or “I am so proud of myself for getting that job done at work,” you will notice a difference in your self-confidence and you are also training yourself to notice what really makes you beautiful. It has been proven that when you say something out loud to yourself three times then a pathway in your brain has been created. That pathway will keep getting stronger, and stronger each time that word or phrase is repeated making it easier to recall and believe. So for example, if you were to tell yourself that you are truly beautiful at least three times each day then soon you would start to believe it and you would begin to feel more beautiful as well.

Next, learn to view yourself through the eyes of someone else. We are ourselves biggest critic and bully that we could ever know. Let’s say that maybe we were late to work but we made up for it by meeting a deadline that was really important but instead of praising ourselves for getting the deadline met, we scold ourselves for being late. This is one of the most destructive things we could do but it is just human nature to tend to focus on the bad and beat ourselves up for not meeting our own expectations. To fix this, we have to view ourselves through the eyes of another person. Another person may notice that we were late but they also know that a deadline got met and that is more important in the long run and so we are praised for the hard work. This technique takes practice but it is very important for learning to see your inner beauty. The people around us, who know us, and the people that we randomly meet can all see our inner beauty; it just takes practice for us to believe it.

Finally, accept and embrace that beauty is not what you put on or what you wear. Makeup and clothes are meant to help enhance your true beauty and make you feel like the amazing person you are. Don’t cover up your true shining beauty because that isn’t what makes you beautiful and people know that. They know that you are beautiful for your actions, your kind smile, your sweet eyes, and most importantly your heart and soul.

Beauty is not a cosmetic.
Beauty is not a clothing line.
Beauty is not a bank account.
Beauty is you.

I hope that this post has helped everyone learn what I feel true beauty is and how easily it can be achieved. True beauty is already inside us, we just have to learn to accept that. You all are beautiful, so let it shine and show the world that you are beautiful for just being you. Talk again soon pretty dango  babies~!
