Quick and Easy Honey Green Tea Cleansing Mask!

If there's one thing I love about face masks it's making my own! In this blog post I'm going to show you a quick cleansing mask that can be used as an all over mask or even just a spot treatment! The best part about this little mask is that it's great for clearing redness, helps get rid of/prevent blackheads, and only requires two ingredients. Read more to find out~! ;)

So, if you haven't already guessed about what ingredients you will need let me explain. The only two ingredients you will need for this mask is honey and green tea. Honey and green tea are both packed full of antioxidants and work together nicely to unclog pores while calming redness prone skin.

I typically use this mask as a spot treatment around my nose or anywhere I feel a blemish coming on. It helps to sooth the skin while unclogging the pores. It also works well as an all over facial mask but it can be a little messy so be warned! =) It's not too bad though.

Let's go over what you will need:

Now, for the honey and green tea it doesn't have to be any special kind but for my masks I use premium green tea/honey. That is just matter of preference because the mask will work with just plain honey and plain green tea. Nothing special is required which is great because you can make a lot of masks for really cheap. ^^ I like cheap beauty tricks!

Ahem, moving on to the steps! It's really, really straight forward.

Step 1:
Take a big spoon full of honey and just put it into the bowl.

Step 2:
Tear open the green tea bag and pour the tea into the honey in the bowl.
Step 3:
Mix it together until the tea and honey are evenly combined!

Step 4:
Apply the honey/tea mixture to your face and let it sit for about five-ten minutes. Then use warm water and rinse off the mask. I recommend using a wash cloth to help limit the mess! =)

Helpful Notes:
Due to the fact that we are using honey with this it can be very sticky and messy. However, simple warm water will get rid of any sticky leftovers. Putting your hair back will also help keep things nice and clean. Also, please, please, please don't use if you have any allergies to honey or green tea!... or spoons... or bowls I guess?

So, ready for the pros and cons of this simple DIY face mask? Okay!

Pros:

  • Simple. You only need two ingredients.
  • Cheap. A jar of honey and a box of tea is really cheap when you think of how many masks you can make.
  • Full of antioxidants. Green tea and honey both contain lots of good vitamins and antioxidants that help fight against free radicals. Plus the caffeine in green tea helps your skin to wake up and look fresh.
  • Sticky. Honey is really sticky and so it pulls out all the junk in clogged pores
Cons:
  • Sticky. It can get everywhere if you're not careful but warm water can help
  • Scent. I personally hate the smell of honey and so it's a con for me
Overall, this DIY face mask is really simple and cheap. It helps clear your skin while helping it to look fresh and healthy. This is my new favorite face treatment and it really helps my skin to avoid blemishes and takes down redness. I hope that you will take the time to try out this simple cleansing mask!

Until next time thank you for reading~! <3

    1. I haven't tried it with other teas but the thing with green tea is that it is really, really full of antioxidants. Other teas are too but green tea is kind of like one of the super foods of teas if that makes sense. Flavored teas wouldn't work though. Black tea might and maybe peppermint. =) However, green tea is works best.

    1. So sorry for not getting back to you sooner!!!! The flavored tea you have will work as long as it is natural. =) Otherwise it could be irritating to your skin.
