Oatmeal and Milk Face Mask!

Oatmeal and milk are both very healthy and tasty sources of nutrients that our body needs. Normally, when thinking of oatmeal and milk we tend to think of breakfast or a snack. Instead of eating this wonderful duo I am going to tell you how you can turn them into a nice, relaxing, and money saving face mask.

First, you are going to need a bowl or a cup like pictured here:
Second, you are going to need some oatmeal. I use non-instant oatmeal and I haven’t tried this face mask with the instant kind but I’m sure it would work the same; just be sure to use the regular instant oatmeal not the flavored kind. Once you have some oatmeal, take about one and a half handfuls of the dry oats and place them inside the bowl. Here is a picture of the oatmeal in my cup:

Next you are going to need some milk just enough to barely cover the oatmeal. You can use any kind of milk, I use 2% milk but that doesn’t really matter because it is just the kind I drink. Slowly pour a small amount of milk over the oats and let them soak for 30 seconds roughly. Once you have let the oats soak they should look something like this:

Finally, after your oats have soaked you can take a spoon, your fingers, or even a makeup brush to apply the mask to your face. This mask can be messy so I recommend applying the mask over a sink or even while taking a bath. Before applying I also recommend that you wash your face with a cleanser, then apply the mask, wait 10-15 minutes, and then finally rinse off the oatmeal with warm water and apply your favorite moisturizer for added benefits.

A little side note: You don’t have to use milk as the base for this face mask; I just prefer it for the nutrients. If you are allergic to milk or you just don’t like the idea of putting milk on your face then you can use water or plain yogurt for the base. Just follow the same steps as I listed above. I hope this post was helpful for you and enjoy!
